Creating a Tranquil Bedroom: Your Oasis of Serenity
Create a tranquil bedroom to provide the R&R you deserve.
In this fast-paced modern world we live in, finding moments of tranquility and peace is more important than ever. Our bedrooms serve as our personal sanctuaries where we retreat after a long day, seeking solace and relaxation. So, why not transform your bedroom into a tranquil haven, a space that promotes restful sleep and rejuvenation? In this blog post, we will explore simple yet effective tips on how to create a tranquil bedroom that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.
1. Declutter and Minimize:
Clutter is known to increase stress levels and create a sense of chaos. A serene bedroom starts with a clean slate. Begin by decluttering the space, removing any non-essential items and putting things in their designated place. Opt for smart storage solutions that help you keep your belongings organized and out of sight. Remember, a tidy space equals a clear mind.
2. Choose Soothing Colors:
The color palette you choose for your bedroom plays a significant role in creating a tranquil atmosphere. Opt for soft, neutral tones such as calming blues, serene greens, or muted grays. These colors evoke a sense of tranquility and promote a peaceful ambiance. Avoid loud or vibrant colors that may stimulate your senses and hinder relaxation.
3. Introduce Natural Elements:
Nature has a remarkable way of soothing our souls. Bring elements of the outdoors into your bedroom to create a calming environment. Consider adding potted plants or a vase of fresh flowers. Not only do plants purify the air, but they also add a touch of greenery that can be visually pleasing. Additionally, natural materials like wooden furniture or bamboo accessories can contribute to a sense of grounding and tranquility.
4. Create Soft Lighting:
Harsh lighting can be disruptive and prevent you from fully unwinding. Replace bright, overhead lights with soft, warm lighting options. Consider installing dimmer switches to control the intensity of your bedroom lights. Bedside lamps with warm-toned bulbs can create a cozy ambiance, perfect for winding down in the evenings. Softly lit candles can also add a touch of romance and tranquility.
5. Indulge in Comfortable Bedding:
Your bed should be the epitome of comfort and relaxation. Invest in high-quality, cozy bedding that invites you to sink in and unwind. Opt for soft, breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen and choose a mattress and pillows that provide adequate support for your body. Experiment with different textures and layers to create a luxuriously nurturing sleeping environment.
6. Embrace Serene Scents:
Aromatherapy has long been known to promote relaxation and calmness. Introduce subtle, calming scents into your bedroom to create a tranquil atmosphere. Lavender, chamomile, and vanilla scents are renowned for their soothing properties. Use essential oil diffusers or scented candles to gently infuse the air with these calming fragrances.
7. Banish Technology:
In our digital age, it is essential to create a technology-free haven within our homes. Banish TVs, laptops, and smartphones from your tranquil bedroom. These devices can disrupt your sleep patterns and prevent you from fully disconnecting. Create a space that is solely dedicated to rest and relaxation, allowing yourself to truly unwind.
By implementing these simple tips, you can transform your bedroom into a tranquil oasis, a refuge from the stresses of daily life. Remember, a peaceful environment is the foundation for restful sleep and rejuvenation, enhancing your overall well-being. So, take a few moments and prioritize creating your own personal sanctuary, for you deserve a peaceful haven to retreat to each day.

Trends are cyclical, and while there’s a chance linoleum flooring may come back in style, if you’re planning on undertaking a full-on kitchen remodel, the last thing you want to do is pick a trend that’s outdated or overdone. After all, the kitchen is the heart of the home, and whatever design choices you make can set the tone for the rest of your home’s design. Tackling a kitchen remodel can be an expensive project, so you’ll want to put some extra care into your design choices – especially if you’re thinking of incorporating the latest trends.
To help ensure your kitchen design choices withstand the tests of time, Redfin reached out to us and other design experts, from Chino, CA, all the way to Richmond, VA, to weigh in on kitchen trends to avoid in 2021 and alternatives you can use instead.

Monochrome color schemes
Monochrome might be a go-to fashion trend, but it can easily look bland, not to mention less pristine, with the constant use and amount of time we’re spending in our kitchens. “White continues to be on-trend through 2021, but it can be overdone. White on white on white will get you Instagram likes and saved Pins, but when viewed in person, white can fall flat, look cheap, and is boring. Make a remodel memorable by mixing white elements, natural textures, and neutral hues to achieve that light and bright look.” –Dahlia Home Co.

Visual Board: Minimal Bathroom Inspiration
My master bath renovation is almost complete, so I wanted to share with you the finishes I chose. I love bright white and airy spaces and that is why I wanted to keep this space simple and clean. I needed to be as far away from the nasty green paint color and the crumbling drywall that previously dominated the bathroom!
Hey guys!
My master bath renovation is almost complete, so I wanted to share with you the finishes I chose. I love bright white and airy spaces and that is why I wanted to keep this space simple and clean. Since this was a DIY project, we chose to shiplap the walls. Drywall has a large learning curve and is just messy. We painted the shiplap and the ceiling Sherwin Williams Alabaster. Another component of the bathroom that is very DIY friendly is the dark gray mosaic tile. It is very forgiving when laying it down.
Below the Visual Board is the Virtual Shopping List so you can find every item we used. Both the Visual Board and the Virtual Shopping List are deliverables when you purchase any of the design packages.

We did the demo and install ourselves but this board and list can be handed over to your contractor so that have an idea of what you like. Besides having the money to do a renovation (we ALL have that issue), what is one thing that stops you from making a design decision for your space?
